George Balazs and Nancy Linsley, taken in front of our stamp display at the Workshop on Sea Turtle Biology & Conservation at Hilton Head Island, SC, in 1994.
Yes, its an old picture, but the only one in existence with both of us in it!
Who are we?
George Balazs retired after 34 years heading the NOAA Marine Turtle Research Program in Honolulu, Hawai’i as well as 10 years with the Hawai’i Institute of Marine Biology at University of Hawai’i,
and has been collecting sea turtle stamps for nearly as long. He is by no means retired from working with sea turtles and sea turtle people, however!
Nancy Linsley retired after 42 years as a Flight Attendant with United Airlines. She got hooked on collecting sea turtle stamps after finding her first one in México while helping on a project there.
